Hard work has always been part of the Bernunzio family. Watermark’s president Pat Bernunzio jokes that growing up in the Bernunzio family required an eight-day work week. That dedication is evident in the 30 years of experience in baking, entrepreneurship, and sales, that led Pat and his wife Kathy to develop Watermark Specialty Foods and Leo’s Bakery in the original location on Atlantic Ave. Watermark’s focus on the wholesale distribution of a wide variety of food products (including the Leo’s line of products) led to a major expansion in 2004 to its present location at 101 Despatch Drive in East Rochester.

By focusing on specialty products that are often difficult for wholesale customers and food distributers to access, Watermark has continued to grow. The distribution/production facility saw a major expansion in 2017, and distribution coverage expanded throughout upstate New York. Since then, Watermark’s product line and customer base have continued to grow, which Pat attributes to his key people, perseverance, and consistent reminders that Watermark grows as the businesses of our customers grow.
